The Firman E. Bear Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society is the New Jersey Chapter of this International Professional Organization. Members of the chapter must be members of the National Organization. Chapter meetings are usually held twice a year with at least one meeting consisting of a tour and/or guest speaker. The chapter offers an annual Scholarship and an Ecological Excellence Award in partnership with Pineland's Nursery. A newsletter is published 2 times per year. The Chapter is run by an executive council who meet bi-monthly.
